Castillejo de Lujan & Torre de la guayata

Ruins with the soul of a castle

If you want to lose calories before the big meal you can take an excursion 🚶🏻‍♀🚶🏻‍♂ to Castillejo de Lujan and the Torre de Guayata.

Here you can enjoy ruins with the soul of a castle and a beautiful day in the fields of Castilla.

Hoz de la Cigüela

For climbing lovers

For those who didn't come here to get drunk but to climb, Karen has prepared a day of climbing on Saturday (which she will not go to later because she has something else to do). Is in the afternoon at the Cigüela gorge, in an area with various difficulty routes on a soft limestone wall on both sides of the river. For more information talk to Karen.

 

Uclés Monastery

A fascinating window to the medieval past

The Uclés Monastery, about 20 minutes away by car, is a majestic historical and architectural complex. Founded in the 12th century, it was the mother house of the Order of Santiago, one of the most important military orders of the Iberian Peninsula.

The monastery combines Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque architectural styles, highlighting its imposing façade, its cloister and the church. This place, full of history and spirituality, offers a fascinating window into Spain's medieval and Renaissance past.

A must-see destination for lovers of history and architecture!

The entrance fee is €12 but be careful! It only opens from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Roman mine from the 1st century

An amazingly well preserved mine

Well, if you are curious, you can come and see the only Roman lapis specularis mine that has been preserved practically unchanged since its exploitation. It is in Osa de la Vega, 15 poorly counted minutes from Casas de Lujan.

From Monday to Friday they only open for groups, but with all of us we're sure we could make it 😉. As for the weekend, they open at 11:30 a.m.

Admission is €10 per person.
